A practical guide for property owners
Property management works best when the owner and management team understand who handles what. Before comparing proposals, identify the support you need and how you want to stay informed about the property.
Clarify day-to-day responsibilities
Ask which tenant communications, leasing activities, maintenance requests, and reporting tasks are included. Discuss how requests are recorded and how the owner is contacted. Avoid relying on a broad service label when a specific responsibility matters to you.
Define approval and spending arrangements
Agree on who can authorize work, when an estimate is needed, and how changes are communicated. Discuss how service providers are coordinated and what information the owner receives about completed work. Put those arrangements in the management agreement.
Review reporting and access
Ask what updates you will receive, how often they are provided, and where property information is available. If an owner portal is used, confirm what it includes and whom to contact for access or questions.
Connect management with planned property work
Talk through upcoming turnovers, deferred maintenance, cleaning, and improvements. Some tasks may require a separate scope or project agreement. Doubleclick can discuss management alongside the maintenance and property services your buildings need.
